Hi, I’m Rebecca Zavaleta, the owner and lead designer for Danzante Events. We are based in Santa Cruz Ca, nestled between the glistening ocean views of the Monterey Bay, and the redwoods that bejewel the Santa Cruz Mountains. I live here with my husband, 3 kids and 3 cats and our dog (our fur babies). It’s a full house with an open door policy for our friends and family. We are lucky to be surrounded by so much laughter and support of those we hold dear.
Before I launched Danzante Events, I worked in various fields but primarily in retail as a barista. I am still super passionate about coffee as you will soon discover when we have our in person meetings. I roast my own beans and can give you a full lesson on the origins of coffee and what goes in to making the best cup (yes, I’m a bit of a nerd). Other hobbies of mine include graphic design, wine tasting, networking, and performing at the Renaissance Faire.
Looking back I should have known I was going to be an event planner. As a child I would routinely throw large events for the other kids in the neighborhood, crafting decor from virtually nothing and making the perfect invitation to set the mood. My dolls would have these large galas which would take up most of the living room. I couldn’t help it, I had a story to tell and by gosh I was going to.
I’m passionate about learning, growing, and developing as a business and as an individual. I value my team of employees and fellow vendors within the industry that help us create these incredible events. I consider myself incredibly lucky to be doing something I enjoy and gain a great sense of fulfillment.
