Hi, I’m Rebecca Zavaleta, the owner and lead designer for Danzante Events. I live in the beautiful city of Santa Cruz California, surrounded by sensational views of the ocean and a few miles away from the grand redwoods that bejewel the Santa Cruz Mountains. I live here with my husband, daughter, son, 2 dogs and 3 cats. It’s a full house. We have family and friends over often and it is filled with so much joy and laughter, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Before I launched Danzante Events , for many years I worked in retail, specifically cafes as a barista. Coffee is one of my big passions, which you will discover when we have any in person meetings. I roast my own coffee and can give you a full lesson on the origins of coffee and what goes in to making the best cup. Other hobbies of mine include graphic design, wine tasting, traveling the world and performing at the Renaissance Faire. Despite events being my career now, I still consider it a great source of joy and fun. I love staying on top of styles and trends and learning from industry experts, fellow vendors and the clients I work with.
Looking back I should have known I was going to be an event planner. As a child I would routinely throw large events for the other kids in the neighborhood, crafting decor from virtually nothing and making the perfect invitation to set the mood. My dolls would have these large galas which would take up most of the living room. I couldn’t help it, I had a story to tell and by gosh I was going to.
Each event is an opportunity to tell a unique story. To capture this precious moment in time in a way that highlights the clients joy and celebrate with them by carefully designing and planning each element for them. Being able to do this as often as I do, I consider myself so lucky and honored. People are entrusting me with this moment in their life that they will cary with them forever.
